So, There you go... now you know what we Look like, would you like more information about us? alright then, let´s get started. We are Desmond (25/12/1973) and Maria (08/09/1981) and we Live together in a Small Town called Barnstorf in North Germany. Now you´re thinking why can they write such good English? Well, because Desmond was Born In Leeds :0) He "Moved" over to Germany because thank the British Army he got a Posting in a City Called Osnabrück. Since then he´s been driving the Germans mad *lol* Maria was Born in a small Town called Blankenburg which is Located in the Former East of Germany. Together we have Built up our Small Chinchilla Breeding Program which includes a variety of Proven lines from Established German Breeders and our own offspring. We don´t specialise in a certain Colour although we have Many Violets and Violet Carriers. Our aim is to Breed an maintain the Good quality that we have, Through selective sorting and new Bloodlines we are wanting to improve our Herd and therefore establish ourselves through a good breeding program. I guess though that´s what we all want :0)

 

Our Hobbies

Desmond & Chinchillas: As Desmond came over to Germany he saw his first Chinchilla in a Local Pet Shop, upon seeing this weird little furball he thought "What the Heck is that then?" But decided like many other unwise people because it was cool and not everybody had something like that at home (or in the barracks) to buy one. Obviously Desmonds first Chinchilla had to be named Gizmo *how original*, Shortly after came Desmonds second Chinchilla Sony (named after his Hi-Fi System) *lol*. Back in 1992 there wasn´t that much information about Chinchillas in the Internet and Desmond didn´t have a Computer back then anyway *lol* He did buy books though and read very thoroughly, unfortunately not everything that was written down was true, therefore he had many visits to the Local Vet and some losses of his earlier chins. Now after having Chinchillas for over 14 years he´s learned a little bit *smile* Desmond is also a Member of a Local Chinchilla Breeders Society which includes some Pelters and other Hobby Breeders. We do like to express that we have nothing to do with the Fur industry, we just steal the Pelters Knowledge :0)

Apart from Chinchillas Desmond is also a bit of a Computer madman, he loves taking them to pieces and not quite getting them back together again :0) He´s also working on Different Software to enable him to design an attractive Website, which might work out one day *lol* He also loves watching his Films which ranges from Cartoons to Ku-fu. There´s nothing better than watching flying chinese people throwing Fireballs and stuff like that at each other *rofl*

 

 

Maria & Chinchillas: Maria has Chinchillas since 1999, Like many other People she got her first Chinchilla from a Pet store, as a person who doesn´t have much idea about the little rodents she asked the shop assitant if she could have some information about holding and keeping the animals, she was told many things which were total nonsense. Over the years she´s built up her knowledge about Chinchillas, whereas i would say her strongest point is Sickness and Health care of Chinchillas. Maria is also a Member of the same local Chinchilla Breeders society since 2006.

Maria also has a Horse, she loves Riding and Teaching the Horse her Bad habbits *lol*, No serioulsy when Maria has a day off at work she´s usually at the Stables Grooming and Riding her Horse, oh by the way her Horse has a Fancy name too, "belle a poch" or something like that :0) We just call her Belle. here´s a couple of snapshot of her for those of you who liek Horses.

Marias biggest wish ist to complete her AOWD (advanced open water diver) course, She completed her OWD (open water diver) in October 2003 and now she´s Looking for an excuse to get me wallowing around under the surface of the Sea. I guess as time comes i will also get around to doing the OWD because if i don´t Maria will kill me because she´d love to go to Egypt on a divers holiday with me. Well wish us luck on that one :0)
